1. Top 3 Misconceptions about Caring for Our Aging Parents.

People will learn what they should be looking for as concerns related to our aging parents, what to say to the doctor about your loved one, what are normal versus abnormal changes related to memory as we age, how to best communicate with a loved one with memory loss, and how to help your loved one in getting the most appropriate supports in place. The audience will leave with a checklist of how to best support their elder loved one when they live next door or far away, as well as a checklist of financial considerations of caring for aging loved ones.

2. More than Just Memory Loss. Learn the 3 misconceptions people have about memory, how it works, and how to know if your elder loved one is experiencing atypical memory loss.  Leave with some specific tips of next steps to take if you suspect memory loss, how to communicate with loved ones who are dealing with it, and how to take care of yourself in the process of supporting them.

 

3. Caring for Your Aging Parent When you Are Burned Out. Learn what are some of the different options for support of my aging loved one, how do I determine that I need extra help to care for my parent, and practical ideas for taking care of myself and my elder loved one when my energy tank is on empty.
